The Director of Accounting/Finance is responsible for overseeing the General Accounting and Financial Reporting functions and the financial services areas including Credit, A/R, A/P & Payroll. This position has a payroll Manager. and AP/AR Manager reporting to the incumbent, along with a substantial qualified staff. Auto-Chlor is offering a great salary for this important role.
The Director of Accounting is responsible for implementing and maintaining a system of internal controls that will ensure that company assets are adequately safeguarded and that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with all financial policies.
Essential Job Functions:
Oversees the general accounting function, which includes inter-company accounting, cash management/reconciliation, financial reporting, and balance sheet management.
Accountable for ensuring that policies and procedures (internal controls) are in place to provide reasonable assurance that the company assets are protected.
Ensures that company financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies and US GAAP. Responsible for reviewing monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and other documents to ensure this compliance.
Ensures that company financial reports are prepared in compliance with policies and directives.
Responsible for the completion of Federal and State tax reporting requirements including income, property, sales and use, and other local taxes and other reports as required.
Monitor accounts receivable and cash flow. Perform the billing function monthly. Supervise follow-up collection letters and calls when appropriate.
Reporting multi-state sales tax for product sales.
Involved in validating/designing suggested changes to ensure accounting requirements continue to be met both from a people performance as well as systems perspective.
Coordinates work relating to both internal and external audits in the periodic review of the company financial records. Responsible for the implementation of agreed upon recommendations, related to areas of responsibility, resulting from the audit findings.
Responsibilities include all fiscal period close processes, financial reporting, financial systems maintenance, internal controls and regulatory compliance procedures, tax reporting, and integration of all corporate controllership initiatives.
Responsible for budgeting/forecasting and variance analyses.
Education – BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance , CPA is a plus
8 years of accounting experience in both private and public accounting sectors
Maintain discretion in handling confidential information.
Ability to multi-task and produce results under deadlines.
Possess a collaborative “can-do” attitude.
Superior prioritization skills and time management
Mentor and develop accounting team members
Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff
Experience with upgrading accounting/ERP systems
